Green Square Storm Pipeline
Empire Delivers the Green Square Stormwater Drain Pipeline
4.5 Kilometres of DN1800 RCJP, Purpose-Made
In 2015, Empire supplied 4.5 kilometres of CP&P DN1800 Reinforced Concrete Jacking Pipe (RCJP), including interjack lead and trail pipes to give the alliance additional factors of safety. To meet the specific diameter requirement, a new pipe mould was fabricated, a commitment that was fundamental to the project's construction program.
"Green Square required a supplier willing to commit to a new mould for a single project, then deliver thousands of metres of DN1800 RCJP on time and in full. That commitment exceeded the contractor's expectations." Aaron Mackley, Director of Sales & Operations, Empire Infrastructure
Twin and Triple Parallel Drives Beneath the Water Table
The most technically demanding section involved approximately four kilometres of DN1800 pipeline installed in twin and triple parallel formation over 1.3 kilometres, entirely within the groundwater table. This required a pipe specification capable of performing under sustained hydrostatic load. The full pipe and accessories scope was delivered on time and in full.
Infrastructure That Scales With a Growing City
The completed stormwater drain won the Infrastructure Project Innovation Award for NSW in 2019, standing as one of the most complex concrete jacking pipe supply programs Empire has executed. Empire's technical team worked closely with the DG Alliance to ensure the full 4.5-kilometre pipe scope and interjack configuration aligned with the construction program.
