Policy

Effective 1 October 2026
Empire Infrastructure Pty Ltd (ABN 17 611 265 537) (Empire, we, us) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information through empireinfrastructure.com.au, the Empire Engineer Portal, our Request for Quote tool and our dealings with customers, engineers and suppliers. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. About this policy

Empire is an Australian importer and supplier of underground civil infrastructure products. We supply to contractors, consulting engineers and asset owners across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. This policy applies to anyone whose personal information we hold, including website visitors, Engineer Portal users, people who request a quote or download a document, and contacts at our customers and suppliers.

2. What we collect

We only collect information we need for our business. This usually includes:

  • your name, job title, company, email address and phone number;
  • project details you send us, such as project name, location, product, diameter, quantity and delivery requirements, and any files you attach;
  • Engineer Portal account details, such as your login email, the organisation you work for, and which documents and tools you use;
  • the documents you download from our website;
  • records of our communications with you; and
  • technical information about your visit, such as pages viewed, browser type and approximate location, collected through analytics.

We do not ask for sensitive information and ask that you do not send it to us.

3. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you complete a form on our website (including the Quick Enquiry, Request for Quote, Lunch and Learn and document download forms), register for or use the Engineer Portal, email or call us, meet us at events, or do business with us. Sometimes we receive your details from your employer, a contractor or engineer working on the same project, or from public sources such as company websites and tender documents.

4. How we use it

We use your personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and prepare quotes and proposals;
  • supply products and manage orders, delivery and accounts;
  • give you access to the Engineer Portal and keep it secure;
  • send you technical documents you request;
  • send you project updates and information about our products, where you have agreed or would reasonably expect it (you can opt out at any time);
  • improve our website, tools and services; and
  • meet our legal obligations.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only where needed to run our business, for example with:

  • the manufacturers we work with, and freight and logistics providers, where needed to quote or supply your project;
  • service providers who host our website, database, email and CRM systems; and
  • professional advisers, insurers and government bodies where required by law.

These parties may only use your information for the purpose we give it to them.

6. Overseas storage

Some of our service providers store data outside Australia, including in Singapore and the United States. Where project details are shared with an overseas manufacturer to prepare a quote or supply, that manufacturer may be located in Asia, Europe or elsewhere. We take reasonable steps to make sure overseas recipients protect your information.

7. Security and retention

We protect personal information with access controls, encrypted connections and secure hosting. Engineer Portal access is limited to approved users. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it.

8. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technology, including Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used. Our document download form remembers your name and email in your browser so you do not have to enter them again. You can clear this, or block cookies, in your browser settings; some features may then not work as expected.

9. Access and correction

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.

10. Complaints and contact

If you have a question or complaint about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first. We will look into it and respond in writing. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page.
