Dudley St, Mermaid Beach Sewer Pipeline
CLIENT: City of Gold Coast – LOCATION: Mermaid Beach QLD AUSTRALIA
The City of Gold Coast engaged Rob Carr Pty Ltd to install a new stormwater drainage pipe underneath the Gold Coast Highway in Mermaid Beach. This project was completed in late 2024.
The project included 78 metres of DN1800, OD2120 CP&P Concrete Jacking pipe with Stainless Steel Collars. Given the location of the installation, (Right in the middle of a busy Gold Coast Street) the project construction window was very slim. Just 10 days were allocated to install the entire pipeline.
Empire was able to deliver the pipe to site on a daily basis in accordance with the installation schedule and helped Rob Carr achieve the goal of completing the line within the allocated timeframe.
This upgrade will help reduce flooding in roads and properties around Dudley Street.
The CP&P jacking pipes were installed using the micro tunnelling method which reduced disruption for residents and businesses and limited the amount of reinstatement work required of the roads and infrastructure after installation.
